Cut Paper / Packaging Design / Layout

Grown Wild is a brand connecting kids to the outdoors through activity kits by teaching and encouraging them to touch, see, and apply what they are learning outside.

Problem

Children are not exploring nature due to the draw of technology. Screen time can lead to tech-dependent children and deprive kids of the benefits of the outdoors. Kids spend 4-6 hours a day on screens, but only 4-35 minutes a day in outdoor play.

Solution

Grown Wild is a brand connecting kids (ages 6-12) to the outdoors through activity kits. Crafts, science experiments, activities, and books teach kids about topics such as botany, forestry, and exploration and encourages kids to go outside to touch, see, and apply what they are learning. The activities involve exploring the outdoors, collecting objects from nature, and using science experiments to see how nature works. Each kit has multiple activities for children to learn about nature and lead them to explore, learn, and play in the outdoors.

Visual Exploration

Refining

Through the visual exploration, I discovered layered papercut, which correlate to a childlike, playful mindset. I then explored digital papercut vs hand cut paper.
